Plainly, what this site does and does not keep

No accounts, no personal tracking

You do not sign up for anything here. There are no user accounts, no newsletter, no forms that collect your name or email, and no advertising. The site does not use cookies for tracking.

Visit statistics

To see which pages are being read, the site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, run by our hosting provider. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, does not follow you to other websites and does not store your IP address. We see only totals, such as page views, referring sites, countries and device types, and never who you are.

The conversation with Companion

When you write to Companion, your message is sent to the assistant service so that it can reply. A conversation identifier is kept in your browser’s session storage so that the reply can follow on from what you said before; it is cleared when you close the tab, and you can clear it any time with the “New” button. Please do not put in anything you would not want a service to process, such as passwords, card numbers, or another person’s private details.

Companion is provided to help you. The assistant is not a person, it is not God, and it is not a pastor, counselor or doctor. What it says is not advice for your particular situation; take it to Scripture, to prayer, and to people who know you.

Images and fonts

Photographs are served from this site’s own image host. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts; your browser requests those files directly from Google, which may record the request as any web server does.

Children

The site is written for adults and older teenagers. It does not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.
